I’ve made it. I’m safe – and I’m ready. Alright Europe, what’s first?
The Copenhagen Airport has a minimalist decor akin to Ikea. Go figure being 15 minutes from Sweden and all.
When I land it’s snowing. And I think this is glorious. It’s like I’m in the REAL Sweden. In my imagination, it’s always snowing here. I blog as a feeble attempt to beat jet lag because I really should stay up another 4 hours – but that might be pushing it.
Sleepy Sarah sits and silence in Sweden. Swonderful, Smarvelous.
PS. Sweden is 9 hours ahead of CA time.
DAY TWO: Observations on Sweden
I went for a long walk today from Triangeln to Malmo and back. I spent much of the morning trying to describe the smell, and all I can come up with is: hot urine. It smells oddly sour.
Espresso Bar is as prolific in Sweden (at least here) as Starbucks is in the states. The city is a mix of brick buildings, canals, and bundled people. Moms walk their newborns in prams through the cemetery parks and past the shops.
For dinner last night, I tried to order a sandwich. Because of the language barrier, I ended up with bread. I’m pleased to be picking up a little Swedish, I can read the streets signs and was successful in ordering lunch. I made a grocery stop on my way home and will probably settle in for the night. Tomorrow I head to Hamburg.

I cry for happy. 😂
